Madonna, Shakira, and BTS to Headline Historic FIFA World Cup 2026™ Final Halftime Show

FIFA and Global Citizen have officially announced a landmark collaboration for the first-ever FIFA World Cup™ Final Halftime Show. Global icons Madonna, Shakira, and BTS are set to co-headline the historic performance on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the New York New Jersey Stadium.

The show, curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, aims to blend world-class entertainment with urgent social impact. It will be produced by Global Citizen in partnership with Live Nation and Done + Dusted, featuring special appearances by beloved characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets to highlight the evening's core mission: global education.

A Performance with Purpose

Central to the event is the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which seeks to raise $100 million to expand access to quality schooling and football opportunities for children in underserved communities.

  • Fundraising Progress: Over $30 million has already been secured.

  • Direct Impact: $1 from every FIFA World Cup 2026™ ticket sold will be donated directly to the fund.

  • Inaugural Grants: FIFA recently announced the first group of organizations across 10 countries that will receive grants to support local educational and athletic programs.

Voices of the Headliners

The performers emphasized the profound significance of the stage. Madonna highlighted that "every child deserves access to quality learning," while Shakira, who also serves on the fund's advisory board, revealed she will perform "Dai Dai," a new song dedicated to children worldwide. BTS added that they are honored to use the "universal language of hope" to connect with millions for such a vital cause.

A Lasting Legacy

FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the show as a "celebration of unity and shared humanity," noting that the performance will shine a light on a purpose far greater than the match itself. Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans echoed this sentiment, stating the goal is to turn a defining cultural moment into a lasting legacy that impacts millions of lives over the next decade.

The non-fiduciary advisory board for the fund features a diverse group of global leaders, including Hugh Jackman, Serena Williams, The Weeknd, Kaká, and Ivanka Trump, ensuring a broad spectrum of support for the initiative's success.
